|dc.description.abstract||This paper has been divided into four separate sectionso
Each section deals with a different aspect of my
experience with the National Health Screening Council for
Volunteer Organizations, Inc.
The first section is devoted to the definition and
historical background of an emerging concept in the system of medical care delivery. Multiphasic Health Testing (MHT).
A discussion of the potential applications of MHT will be
presented. Following a description or an MHT facility, a
brief discussion of how physicians react to the. concept of
MHT and its integration into the present medical care system
will preceed a review of the economic viability of
Multiphasic Health Testing.
The second section of this paper includes a description
of the National Health Screening Council as an organization
dedicated to the promotion of the MHT concept and its
ultimate incorporation into the system of medical care delivery. Topics of discussion in this section will include the history and goals of the Screening Council, as well as the
characteristics which make the Screening Council's programs
unique when compared to other MHT programs.
The third section of this paper is a review of my experience with Multiphasic Health Testing. An account of my responsibilities, my observations and my accomplishments
during the 10 week internship is presented. The fourth and final section is conclusive in nature. It contains a collection of thoughts based both on the
information presented in the literature and on my first hand experiences. Also, my impressions of the National Health Screening Council are presented. The main question discussed in this section is the role of MHT in the whole
system of medical care delivery. A perspective of the present nature and organization of medical care delivery is discussed relative to the recent increase in user demand.
Lastly, MHT is suggested as a necessary addition to the changing system of medical care delivery in this country.||en_US
