My Winter quarter of 1976 was spent working with the Pathology Associates of Southwest Mchigan as part of my Senior Individualized Project. This job was arranged with Dr. Hubbard through "Swede" Thomas of our Career Placement Office. The job with the Pathology Associates is more of a learning opportunity than a job. My duties were only to assist at autopsies and to help draw blood. Perhaps on occasion I did render valuable services to the Pathology Associates, but mostly I was taught by them. When I was not involved in autopsies or venipuncture, I was able to learn a great deal about the hospital laboratory. A rotation schedule for my time to learn about each of seven branches of the lab is shown of page two. This schedule is devised to give me the greatest amount of time in the more difficult sections of the lab, but to still cover all seven branches in ten weeks.
