Mammon: An Investigation of American Cultural Phenomena during the Nineteen-Twenties as Manifested in te State of Florida
Abstract
The third decade of the twentieth century has often been cited as a watershed period in American history. The dramatic changes in societal mores and attitudes which these years witnessed are at the roots of modern American life. Through this investigation of the speculative land boom which occurred in Florida during the early years of the decade, I sought to achieve a more complete understanding of those elements and their true impact on the course of modern American society.
