The King's Justices of Henry VI of England: Background, Training, and Duties
Abstract
This paper is concerned with the thirty-three men who were the justices of King Henry VI's central courts of law. It does not, for the most part, attempt to deal with the
procedure of those courts or with the question .of justice. It is more concerned with family background, training, and offices and the duties·of those offices. It is in its primary purpose an attempt to portray a fifteenth century professional class: the men of law.
