Through this Senior Individualized Project, I worked with the Washington Office on Africa (WOA) and the Africa Policy Information Center (APIC). Besides WOA, there exist many groups involved in pro-Africa policy advocacy. Through this office I set out to discover the role U.S. faith-based organizations play in the foreign policy advocacy community. Surely, the churches could achieve their fullest potential through working together in coalitions. As a progressive Christian, I arrived at the United Methodist Building eager to put my experience to use. Further, I wanted to learn about other ways in which I could be an active supporter of progressive Christian policy. On a less personal basis, I was curious about what kinds of coalitions the church participated in and their accomplishments. Thus, I was seeking out the potential the Church has and how they could act.
