A Window to the Past, A Door to the Future: A History of Dansville, Michigan 1817-Present
Abstract
In writing this history of Dansville I aim to give a broad overlook of this
almost entirely white, protestant community and its trends; particularly the
shift from an agrarian community to one of commuters, who sleep in Dansville,
but do not work there. In researching this topic I gathered information from
three main sources. One, public libraries, the book previously written on
Dansville, Then and Now, and interviews I conducted with lifetime or long-time
residents of the town. Those I interviewed included OrIa Sheatbelm, Beverly
Risner, Louis and Geniveve Freer, Jeanette Witt, Owen Townsend, Peg Wright,
and Donna Weaver.
