Investigation of Percent Depth Dose for HVL 3.0 mm Cu X-Rays and 4 Mev X-Rays
Abstract
In radiation therapy, or the therapeutic treatment of patients with x-rays, a quantity known as percent depth dose is an important quantity invariably used in some form in treatment planning. In an experiment performed at Bronson Methodist Hospital, percent depth dose was determined for various field sizes for both HVL 3.0 mm Cu2
x-rays and 4 Mev x-rays. The work was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Charles S. Simons. and the results are presented in this paper.
