Interactive Computer Games as Educational Supplements
Abstract
My project was created with the facilities available at
Kalamazoo College. I explored the new 660AV Macintosh and
programmed its voice recognition. I created two physics
labs for Kalamazoo College's non calculus based physics
students, using Interactive Physics. I also created an
educational physics game using HyperCard Version 2.1.
The project, Physics Phantasy, was designed to cater to
Kalamazoo College's non calculus based physics students to
aid in studying for exams, but can be used for any
introductory physics course. Phantasy Physics is a set of
physics problems, incorporated into a fantasy game. This
was fashioned after Dungeons and Dragons a role playing
game. Obstacles are crossed using one's knowledge of
physics.
