The Effects of Sample Microstructure and Radiation Induced Defects on the Electrical Dissipation Properties of Yttrium-Barium-Copper-Oxide
Abstract
This paper begins with a general introduction to some of the properties of
superconductors. A discussion of the theory of high temperature superconductivity will be
omitted because the scientific community is still unsure about all of the mechanisms
involved. The ideas of flux creep and flux flow are introduced as dissipation mechanisms.
A detailed description of the experimental methods is given and the results of our research
are discussed. The heavy ion bombardment and Lab VIEW interface are discussed in the
appendices.
