Exploration of Single and Double Ionization of Two-electron Model Atoms Exposed to Intense Laser Fields
Abstract
This past summer, I computer modeled single and double ionization of
two-electron model atoms exposed to strong laser fields. I simulated the
formation of double-ionization jets that are formed when the two electrons
emerge together from the region close to the nucleus, but then are pulled apart by
the force of the electron-electron repulsion. I examined and compared different
strengths of both the laser intensity and the laser frequency.
