Plasma Simulation and Transport at the Magnetospheric Boundary

Abstract

Plasma and magnetospheric physics are reviewed, and the KelvinHelmholtz Instability (KHI), the focus of the research, is introduced. Using the results or KHI and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations combined with simulations of particle motions in electromagnetic fields, the movement and transport or plasma across the magnetospheric boundary is examined.
