Transducer Characterization Using First Principle Measurement Techniques
Abstract
As an employee of the Bose corporation this past summer, I was able to take part in the
company's strive to improve scientific understanding of sound reproduction using
speakers. This paper will be divided into five main parts. First, the main component of a
speaker, the transducer, will be explained. The second section will discuss transducer
characterization. The third section will present the work I did this past summer. Fourth,
the future goals of the past summer project will be discussed. Finally, the paper will
conclude with some reflections on the work done.
