Lichens of Santa Catalina Island: A Taxonomic Study and a Diversity/Abundance Study

The purpose of the diversity and abundance study on lichens in the two contrasting habitats was to determine if lichen species are independent or dependent upon a particular community's abiotic and biotic parameters. If the lichen is dependent upon· its habitat, the lichen's distribution would thus be described.
