The Life History of the coyote and Wolf and Evidence for a new Form of Coyote
MetadataShow full item record
In recent years a breed of "coydogs" has been recognized in the eastern states, particularly in New England. This wild dog has not yet been definitely identified or classified to date. It is currently the project of biologists in New Hampshire, Dr. John Green and Mr. Peter Gaskin at St. Lawrence University and Jefferson Community College respectively, and various others to study the morphology and behavior of this "wild canid" • It is the purpose of this paper to present necessary introductory material for this study. Wolves and coyotes have been studied in the past by various persons and their findings are presented. No attempt is made to conclude how the wild dog should be identified; however, initial findings seem to suggest a new variation of coyotes.
