This Senior Individualized Project is based on the student teaching done by Brian Gibby at Milwood Middle School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It consists of two parts. The student teaching and the time spent in a Special Education room done in the winter quarter of 200 1. The total time spent in the school lasted for eleven weeks and this Senior Individualized Project is a result of that. It attempts to explain the school and the students. The curriculum that was taught was Social Studies in a seventh grade classroom and it was four chapters of a five-chapter unit. This paper also attempts to explain what I taught and how I taught it. It goes through a week by week analysis of what I did. The second part of this paper contains two case studies on two students from the Special Education room. These students names have been changed to protect their identity. My time spent in the Special Education room was brief though. It lasted for two weeks. The Senior Individualized Project also contains stories of what happened during my time spent in Milwood.
