In this Senior Individualized Project, I review the historical contributions to the current tracking system in American Schools. Using this historical information, I examine the effects that tracking has on American students. Furthermore, many school reforms, aimed at solving aforementioned problems. are examined, particularly in the English/Language Arts classroom. It is determined that detracking is the most equitable school reform, and that it would help to solve many of the problems that afflict American Schools today.
