From January 8, 1996, to March 25, 1996, I was a student teacher at Okemos High School in Okemos, Michigan. I taught three classes of biology and one class of physics under the direction of Ms. Sharen Potter and Mr. James Powers. In the fall of 1995, as well as during my term of student teaching, I observed Ms. Potter, Mr. Powers, and numerous others teach their respective classes at Okemos High School. During this time I also had the opportunity to discuss education issues with teachers, administrators, counselors, students, and parents. The following paper is based on those experiences.
