Identification of Nesting Avian Populations in and Around a Twenty-Acre Marsh in Barry County, Michigan
MetadataShow full item record
This project is an attempt to investigate and describe certain natural phenomenon associated with nesting avian populations in and around a 20-acre marsh. It investigates the hypothesis that certain avian species are found in a particular marsh habitat due to its particular environmental conditions, such as its vegetational make-up and stage in ecological succession. This is accomplished by attempting to: 1) identify which species were nesting in the study area and discover certain aspects of their breeding such as nest height and diameter; 2) discover. which avian species used the area during the nesting season; 3) relate the vegetation of the marsh to the species nesting in it.
