    Abstract
My SIP consisted of student teaching as a requirement for the Michigan Secondary teaching certificate. I carried out this practice teaching from August 26 through December 20, 1985 at Hillside Junior High School in Kalamazoo Michigan. While there I taught mathematics to seventh and eighth grade students. I feel it was a successful experience in teaching. I acquired the skills and experience to perform as a first year teacher and I developed a basis for setting priorities for my future in teaching. The success of my student teaching relied heavily on the school itself, the faculty, my supervising teacher and the students. For these environmental factors I was quite fortunate.
