Teaching is a very powerful tool. Just as young bear cubs learn from their mother, humans too have instinctual desires to learn from their elders or individuals whom society has blessed with knowledge and expertise. Through teaching, one evolves into a role model, a facilitator of knowledge, and a friend. Some may even consider teachers to be guardian angels, guiding them in their endeavors and instructing them on right from wrong. Four years ago I would never have considered myself one of those "blessed" individuals. However, through my education at Kalamazoo College and many intense classes in the arts I feel I have developed into a more knowledgeable and experienced woman. The Spring of 1993 offered me an opportunity to test my skill and proficiency of art by student teaching at Gull Lake High School.
