During the summer of 2003, I was fortunate enough to attend an archaeological field school at the ancient site of Idalion, Cyprus under the direction of Dr. Pamela Gaber with Lycoming College. I spent two and a half months in Cyprus, learning techniques and systems that would allow me to excavate in a scientific and professional manner. Having mastered these techniques, I was offered a supervisor position in order to help the team excavate during the 2004 season. I was first given the responsibility of a six meter square trench, then later the added responsibility or overseeing fellow supervisor Susan Morris in opening a square adjacent to mine. The primary goal for the 2004 season was to attempt to find the limits of a large elite building complex on the northern side of the western acropolis. My immediate responsibility was to delineate the architecture in order to determine the eastern limits of the large structure. The following pages are the culmination of the 2004 dig season, and where appropriate, references to the 2003 dig season of which I was also a participant.en_US
