Abstract
The primary goal of our research was to establish the feasibility
of the nonolayer technique for following inhibition of membrane-bound
enzymatic reactions. It was our intention to develop a method to quickly
screen potential drug candidates in a reproducible manner. Additionally,
our monolayer technique was designed to complement and confirm the results
of existing bulk solution studies. Because the method affords the
investigator the parameter of a variable hydrophobic interface, it
provides additional information as to the nature of the reaction in vivo.
