MY STUDENT TEACHING SIP (S.I.P.=Suddenly In Profession)
I student taught seventh grade language arts at Drager Middle School under the supervision of Mrs. Peggy Molter. Drager Middle School is one of two sixth through eighth grade middle schools in Adrian, Michigan. Although Adrian is my home town, I did not attend Drager as a student, therefore I was unfamiliar with most of the staff and school routine. This is Mrs. Molter's second year at Drager Middle School; she enjoys her position and is already a valuable member of the staff. She directed the school musical last spring (a combined production consisting of both local middle schools), has coached certain sports including track and swimming, and works on the staff news letter. Before coming to Adrian, Mrs. Molter taught for ten years in northern Michigan. Mrs. Molter has a masters in Counseling Psychology and is working on her Administration Certification. She is a gifted and dedicated educator. Mrs. Molter contributes to our educational system by accepting students teachers. She welcomed me into her classroom eager to help an aspiring teacher as much as she could. The staff at Drager is excellent. The teachers share a dedication to the students and also to keeping up with new teaching techniques related to their content areas and to middle school aged students. There are several relatively new staff members at Drager. Some are new to the teaching profession, and others are experienced teachers new to the area.
