Eugene H. Bronson Letter No.1
Abstract
Letter from Eugene H. Bronson of Comstock, MI, to Harriet (“Hattie”) N. Taylor, also of Comstock, MI, dated August 31, 1862, from Camp Minty near Detroit, MI. Bronson served as a sergeant in Company C of the Fourth Michigan Cavalry Regiment until his death at Nashville, Tennessee on November 7, 1863. In this letter, Bronson describes his unit’s deployment from camp in Michigan, including mention of Colonel Robert H.G. Minty of the Fourth Michigan Cavalry and Colonel Orlando B. Wilcox of the First Michigan Infantry.
