The data was collected through interviews and observation as well as research. The purpose is to investigate the problems inherant in a gifted program in this rural school and to propose that, though these problems should be taken into consideration, there is still an obligation to students which it is possible for the school to provide with it's resources. The purpose of this study is to examine whether gifted student's at the Montague, Michigan, Nellie B. Chishlom Middle School are getting the best educational experience Montague is able to provide. Montague, Michigan, is a small farming oriented town near Lake Michigan.
