Student teaching was what I had been looking forward to ever since my sophomore year when I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. I knew that student teaching would be a challenge, demanding time and effort if it was going to be a strong base for my teaching style. What I did not know is how much I would grow to love teaching, and want my own classroom. The main challenge in teaching for me was motivating students. I wanted to instill in every student the desire to learn mathematics for themselves, not to please me, or their parents. Making math exciting and appl1cable in their lives now and in their future dreams and aspirations. To be able to channel the majority of my time into student teaching, I lived at home with my faml1y in a supportive atmosphere, and taught at a nearby school, Portage Northern High School.
