Abstract
The idea for this project came about over a long period
of time and was influenced by many different factors. The
Assisted Reproductive Technologies first came to my
attention almost ten years ago when my mother entered the
field. But despite the occasional teasing I endured when my
ninth grade classmates would discover that my mother worked
at what they called a "sperm bank", the technologies
continued to hold interest for me. But it was not until I
began to study Ethics formally in college that the larger
questions associated with my mother's work began to take on
a larger significance.
