I chose to do my student teaching internship at Penn High School in Osceola, Indiana with Mrs. Sharon Besinger for two reasons. The first reason I chose Penn was because of its size. Penn consists of 2,400 students. It would be a very different experience for me because I had always chosen small schools like "K" College. I knew I could teach in a small school since I had already experienced that during my CD as a teacher's aid in my old high school. I found that I enjoyed the atmosphere of a small school as well, but I figured that the size of Penn would challenge me in many ways. My second reason for choosing Penn was because of the amount of school funding. Penn is considered one of the richest school districts in the state of Indiana. In fact, they just finished rebuilding their high school at a sum of 12U million dollars! Since 1 was planning on teaching French, I figured with the size of Penn as well as its funding, it would have an extensive foreign language program. Unfortunately, as I found out money and size do not mean quality in education.
