The Evolution of the Police Accountability Crusade in Philadelphia

During a three month internship with the Philadelphia Inquirer, the author began a study of the police brutality issue and the lack of accountability in the Philadelphia Police Department, the evolution of efforts to reform the practices of the police department beginning with the early efforts of the Police Advisory Board in the late 1950s and current efforts of the U. S. Department of Justice. In addition to research through the archives of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the author also interviewed community leaders and activists.
