dc.description.abstract | Family traditions are such a part of my own life that it is interesting to see other
families and their own traditions. My own family has such a deep sense of their heritage and
their traditions that I wonder if other families have the same. One of the aspects of my Study
Abroad experience that I had looked forward to was finding out about the dynamics of a
Spanish family. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity because I lived with a widow.
The disappearance of many farms is also interesting for me because I have myself
noticed this change. I see it in my own area. Where once there were fields now there are
houses. The growth has been tremendous. The massive homes on such small lots are like
elephants trying to fit onto postage stamps.
As much a part of my life as agriculture is, it is suddenly a shock to me that I have
overlooked it's importance for so long and by doing this research I believe it has made me
more aware of it's presence in the United States and more importantly in my own
community. | en_US |
