Markin Racquet Center
On May 7, 1988 the Thomas S. Markin Racquet Center was dedicated on Kalamazoo College's campus. To honor his son Thomas, David R. Markin and his sister set up a challenge grant for the construction of this facility. The racquet center includes four tennis courts, three racquetball courts, and a squash court. It is located at the corner of Academy and Catherine Streets.

(Kalamazoo College, 1986-06-03)The President of Checker Motors, David R. Markin, sponsored a challenge grant for the construction of a racquet center for Kalamazoo College. In 1976, Markin's son Thomas died and the facility was named after him.
