Report of the Journalistic Internship at the Holland "Evening Sentinel"
Abstract
What I am calling the academic aspect of my S.I.P. experience,
the province of this report, includes what I learned about journalism in
general and about the workings of a small daily in particular. !he academic
component involved dealing with language in specialized ways, using
certain writing styles, and emphasizing precision, accuracy and objectivity.
Increased newspaper-reading speed, greater appreciation of media sources,
and greater ability to write quickly were among the by-products of my
experience.
