The following is a group of essays developmental of critical ideas contingent upon reading Finnegans Wake a few times and upon several articles and books pertinent to it. As a result, the content of this paper is largely unoriginal and amounts to little more than a rhetorical perspective. I should have liked to have the most ardent ambitions about devising a general theory of the novel adequate for an explication of FW, yet alas! I nevertheless submit this as the only possible realization of my humbler ambitions.
