Abstract
In this study, several chromosomal banding procedures
were used to study and compare the chromosomes of mouse L
cells with mouse 3T3 cells. The different banding procedures
were studied for any evidence supporting or opposing McKay's
theory of differential chromosome condensation. In
addition, the mouse L cell and mouse 3T3 cell karyotypes were
reviewed for any possible clues of HeLa cell contamination
through an application of the Giemsa banding technique.
