Cytotoxicity of Various Combinations of Antitumor Drugs & Hyperthermia in In Vitro Studies with Mouth Leukemia L1210
MetadataShow full item record
I studied the lethal effects of exposing L1210 leukemia cells to hyperthermia (400 to 44°C) plus antitumor drugs. Temperatures in excess of 40°C kill L12l0 cells. Cell kill increases with duration of exposure and with slight increases in temperature. Drugs with reported activity in treatment of cancers were coupled with hyperthermia. In almost all cases the percent cells killed by drug and temperature was more than that seen with drug alone or temperature alone. However, the percent cell kil1 with drug and temperature was not greater than that expected if the drug and temperature acted independently and additively.
