MetadataShow full item record
The purpose of this experiment was to obtain a workable method for perfusing the dog thyroid so that further studies could be done on its energy, iodine, and protein metabolism and the effects of specific and non-specific drugs on the gland. In this paper I shall not concern myself with the specific chemical activity of the gland except as it was used as a measure of the organ's metabolic state. The parameters used in the experiment were iodine uptake, pH, pCO2, pO2, blood flow and blood pressure.
