The laboratory has its proponents and detractors, though it seemed that most people found some good and some bad in it. Everyone connected with the laboratory, though, was concerned with some aspect of it, faculty no less than students. It is this concern which justifies fully the effort expended on this project. Even though my own interest in the subject matter is very great, I feel that the greatest accomplishment of this project is not the production of this paper, but rather the implementation of some of my suggestions into the laboratory. I am aware that the whole biology program at this point in time is subject to a radical revision. I have kept this in mind while working on the project and have included some modifications in my own plan which would allow it to be implemented within any of the new proposed programs.
