A Symposium of Neurophysiological and Neurochemical Theories of Schizophrenia, Leading to a Somatic Method for Treatment
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a theory of s schizophrenia
which relies on chemical and neuroanatomical evidence
in an attempt to define and pinpoint a disease which has, since
its naming (dementia praecox) by Kraepelin, quite successfully
defied any comprehensive attempt at a working definition; and,
following from this, arrive at a therapy which stands the best
chance of not merely removing the symptoms of the disease, but
eradicating the pathological condition itself.
