Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to give a visual picture of the coral reef community. It attempts to show the important members of the community, what they do and how they act. This paper is an ecological study of the coral reef community, focusing on the fishes and corals, since these are by far the most abundant and important species. The physical structure of these are given so that one may realize their true appearance. Trophic and behavioral structure are included to give a picture of what fish and corals do during the day. It is hoped that one, after reading the paper, will be able to form a visual picture of the community, with all of its different phases, and will realize the importance of the coral reef community as an ecological study of a climax community.
