Rock and Roll and the Adolescent

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to study some of the ways popular music may function in the life and society of the American teenager, or adolescent. In this context adolescence will mean that time of life between the onset of puberty, in the early teens or slightly before, and the end of high school.
