    Abstract
The primary purpose of this paper is to present a consolidated report of the Negro business men and women in Kalamazoo in the hope that through various channels, the young Negro will be aware that there are members of his race that are able to be independent of state aide, and other means of unearned support. The second purpose of the paper is to present to the White population of the Kalamazoo area facts about Negro business, many of which are unknown to many of the white population. When the many whites are aware of the various Negro business, there is the possibility that their sophisticated stereotypes of the Negro might be somewhat changed.
