Polar Onion-Peeling v1.1 (POP) software [Roberts et al., Rev. Sci. Instrum. 80, 053104 (2009)] was installed on the Bartz lab computer and tested for performance using convoluted images acquired in previous experiments. A case study was then conducted to assess the viability of incorporating POP into existing ion imaging data acquisition (DAQ) infrastructure at Kalamazoo College, in order to reconstruct full three-dimensional photofragment-ion distributions in real-time. It was determined that simultaneous image acquisition and deconvolution is not a favorable alternative to existing methods due to computational limitations.
