Wellington House Efforts to Influence American Opinion with Propaganda about Belgium
Abstract
In writing this paper I have endeavored to present a thorough survey
of propaganda concerning Belgium which was circu1ated in the United
States during World War I by the British propaganda bureau at Wellington
House. Although this is only one of the many organizations in operation
at that time and, in fact, is only a small portion of the work done by
this one group, it is hoped that the flavor, the essence, of what constitutes a propaganda campaign has herein been conveyed. Propaganda yet
retains an important place in contemporary life and it is something of
which one must be aware to avoid being misled.
