A Study of the Distribuiton of Sound Generated by an Impulsive Line Source
Abstract
The shock pulse and other general spark phenomena have
been studied at Kalamazoo College for a number of years under
the direction of Assistant Professor Wayne M. Wright. Recent
accomplishments include investigations of shock wave scattering
from narrow plates, energy dissipation of the spark and the
resistance of the spark. The particular phenomena studied in
this project are characteristics of the spark-produced shock
wave (transient) as a function of the angle of observation, relative
to the normal to the line of the spark gap.
