I had not initially intended to consider the intersections of art and biography, and the ways in which these intersections inform me ways that a viewer sees either Artemisia or her paintings - however, these questions plagued me as I first began to write about the artist. I found myself as captivated by these ideas as I had been by Artemisia's work or her biography. And so, I felt I would leave my rendering of Artemisia incomplete without attempting to investigate the relationship between art and life.en_US
