dc.description.abstract"A Compass Seeking Home" began as a means for me to explore the various ways in which I have 'traveled' during my time at Kalamazoo College, with particular focus on my study abroad experience in Madrid, Spain. What it quickly became is an abstract interpretation of travel, depicting everything from vacations to war to emotional growth within a relationship. This broad approach, along with my use of creative writing skills developed at Kalamazoo College, more accurately represents the cumulative nature of the Senior Individualized Project. Through the critique of personal and observed experiences that occurs within my poems, I have learned more about myself as a writer and member of society. This 'compass' has led me to a greater understanding of who I am and who I hope to become in the future.en_US
