Bygones: A Screenplay
MetadataShow full item record
Writing this film has truly been as Syd Field describes it: a mysterious phenomenon--my own personal experience. Often times writing a story, play, screenplay, etc., is paralleled with birth. I found that the writing process for me was more like an equal partnership than me giving birth to the story; the story led me as much as I invented it. The creation of this movie, Bygones, allowed me to experience firsthand the difficulties of writing a movie from beginning to end. This SIP has broadened my scope and given me a new respect for the craft of writing--of writing screenplays in particular. Writing this screenplay has been one of the more challenging and satisfying of all of my academic efforts at this institution. I am grateful that this College demands a high level of performance of its students and has high expectations. It forces us to reach for the stars, and feel them in our grasp.
