A Dream of Nature: An Island Hopping Roleplaying Game

In the tradition of Dungeons and Dragons®, GURPS® and Vampire: the Masquerade®, I have written a world where a player is expected to create a character and make-believe how they go about their days in that world. This requires nothing more than some paper and pencils, dice, and imagination on the part of the players and the referee. It might be easiest to think of a roleplaying game as a play. The referee acts as the director, informing the actors about the feel of the play, what the culture is like, major events or people that might come into play, and the beginning of the plot. The players are different from actors, however, because given this information they decide what the character they will be playing is like, what their motivations are, what they look like, and most importantly, what they say and do. The script develops improvisationally since the players can only respond to what happens around them from moment to moment. Now, though this game can be played by physically getting up and moving about, it's not necessary. Simply describing what your character is doing and saying is all that is required. Also, there are set rules.
