    Abstract
Features: Border Crossers (Jennifer Einspahr, Tim Moffit and Elizabeth Manwell are three recently tenured professors who symbolize “K” culture by testing boundaries with their idiosyncratic styles) -- Teaching Team : A Real World Business Education (Associate Professor of Economics and Business Patrik Hultberg and entrepreneur Ed Bernard are teammates in what Hultberg calls active teaching methods. Using a case study format, the teaching team puts students in unscripted situations where they have to solve problems) -- Bridge Time (Philip Evergood mural in Hicks center) -- Soldier for Justice (Chokwe Lumumba '69) -- Hinge (The way Kalamazoo College faculty members teach changes lives) -- Hornet Hoops Leader (Hornet men's basketball team has gone to the NCAA Division III national tournament under the leadership of Jeremy Cole) -- Curator of the Uncanny (David Wilson '69 gets you lost in the Museum of Jurassic Technology) -- Beyond the Classroom (The “Barriers to Employment” project by Laura Barralcough’s Sociology class is a documentary film that made a difference) -- Social Justice Scholar (John Dugas, the College’s first Arcus Social Justice Leadership Chair in Political Science does social justice scholarship in Ecuador).

Chokwe Lumumba (1947- ), class of 1969, was formerly known as Edwin Finley Taliaferro
