This paper will be a description of the initial stages in the development of the Comprehensive Child Care Clinic at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. With the establishment of similar health programs across the country, emphasis is being placed on the provision of continuous and comprehensive care to all families regardless of income. By means of such programs. it may be possible to discover the most effective methods of delivering care to a large volume of patients. The purpose of the program itself is to improve the overall health of children in poverty families. and to provide health and medical care to families who would otherwise be unable to obtain such care. Moreover, the newly established programs will work toward the collaboration with and coordination of existing public services.
